Earlier this year Harris was recognized as a Gold Level Recipient of the American Heart Association’s Start! Fit-Friendly Companies Recognition Program.
Harris & Associates was recognized in Forbes magazine’s October 27th, 2008 issue as a Start! Fit-Friendly Gold Level Company. Committed to the American Heart Association’s Start! Program since 2007, Harris has been able to continue their on-going efforts to promote a work environment of physical activity and healthy living. Harris kicked-off the Start! Program in July of 2007 by challenging their employees to walk across America. In just under three months, Harris employees accomplished the challenge by charting 9,816.96 miles! In April of 2008 a higher goal was set: walk to Iraq and back. This new goal was accomplished in five months with the employees charting a total of 14,872 miles. Harris also participates in the American Heart Association’s signature fund-raising event, the Start! Heart Walk.
