LAVTA Breaks Ground on Bus Rapid Transit Project November 24, 2009 Livermore, CA – Construction is now officially underway for the $22 million Livermore Amador Valley Transit Authority (LAVTA) Bus Rapid Transit project. After over three years of securing federal and local funding, this more efficient route from the Lawrence Livermore Laboratory through Dublin to Stoneridge Mall in Pleasanton, is expected to reduce commute times by 20 percent and eliminate the need for a projected 400,000 vehicle trips per year. |

All Powered Up - Almost October 19, 2009 Concord, CA – While there is no hum of electricity yet, the City of Santa Clara’s Silicon Valley Power celebrated the completion of the Palm Substation on June 19th with an open house and self-guided tours. The open house provided the public with an up-close look at the otherwise dangerous breakers and transformers that reduce the electricity coming from the power plant and distribute it among users. It is the first of six substations in the works for Silicon Valley Power. |
